 Esther Keeton

As we launch into the new school year, I would like to take a moment to thank you for giving me this opportunity and to introduce myself.  I am a New Mexico replant, my parents are native New Mexicans who moved to Texas.   I was born in El Paso and raised in Texas and Oklahoma.  I earned my B.S. at the University of Oklahoma, my M.S.Ed. at the University of Nebraska (my husband was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base) and my Ed. Leadership at N.M. Highland University.  As a Military Wife, I had the ability to travel and observe several different cultures.  During my career, I have been able to work in various areas and levels of education from Substitute Teacher to School Administrator.  In all capacities my primary goal has been to support student learning.

As a child, my parents instilled in my brothers and me the concept that education is the great equalizer. My passion is helping students realize that it doesn’t matter where we start out in life; what matters is achieving our goals in life.  I will do whatever it takes to help a student realize his/her potential.  That doesn’t mean that I will not hold students accountable for their decisions, it means that I will help them learn to make wise choices and learn the work ethic necessary to achieve their goals.  I look forward to working with you in this endeavor.
