What We Do

• Help students apply to college

• Help students and parents/guardians understand the admissions process and requirements

• Help students connect with Admissions Representatives

• Host college fairs and have College Recruiters visit Freedom

• Help families understand the college process

• Help undocumented students (students without a social security number) connect with representatives who can help them with the financial aspects of college

• Help students register for Dual Credit through The University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College

• Help students register for exams such as ACT, SAT, ASVAB and Accuplacer

• Help students receive fee waivers for the ACT and/or SAT if student qualifies for free/reduced lunch

• Work with outside organizations for workshops, like ACT Prep and financial awareness

• Help students understand and interpret exam scores

• Help students apply for scholarships

• Host FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Nights

• Help students connect with Military Recruiters

• Gives school staff information to share with students

• Have field trips for students

• Help students find community service and internship opportunities

Get Involved!

It is important to get involved in extra-curricular/community service events during your high school years. Colleges/Universities look at what you do besides get good grades. This can lead to certain scholarships as well. Make sure you track all this information so you can transfer it to scholarships, letters of recommendation, resumes, and applications.
